MatureSmile™ Teeth Whitening Pens are the refill pens for the MatureSmile™ LED kit, and they also work on their own for quick touch-ups at home, at work or on the go. Each pen holds a low-dose 6% carbamide peroxide gel, about 2.1% hydrogen peroxide, far lower than the 35% carbamide peroxide found in many at-home kits.

How to use
Twist, then brush a thin, even layer of gel onto your teeth. For a full session, insert the MatureSmile™ LED mouthpiece for 16 minutes. Skip coffee, tea, red wine and dark sauces for about 2 hours afterwards.
Honest about results
Results vary with the type and age of the staining. Surface stains from coffee, tea, wine and tobacco respond best. Crowns, veneers and bonding do not change colour. Read more in our sensitive-teeth whitening FAQ.

Can I use the pens without the LED mouthpiece?
Yes, for quick touch-ups and maintenance. The gel does the whitening; the LED mouthpiece is what lets a full session finish in 16 minutes rather than an hour.
How do I apply the gel?
Rinse your mouth, then twist the pen and brush a thin, even layer onto the front of your teeth. A thin coat is enough and keeps gel off your gums. With the kit, insert the LED mouthpiece for a 16-minute session, then rinse.
Will the pens work on sensitive teeth?
They are made for teeth that sting with stronger whiteners. A low-dose gel used for short sessions tends to cause less sensitivity than a high-concentration gel worn for an hour, and potassium nitrate in the gel calms the nerve signal inside the tooth. If sensitivity does occur, space sessions further apart.
Will they whiten crowns, veneers or fillings?
No. Peroxide does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or bonding. Whiten your natural teeth first, let the shade settle for about two weeks, then have restorations matched.
What should I avoid after using the pens?
Skip coffee, tea, red wine and dark sauces for about two hours after each application, while teeth are most receptive to re-staining. Water is fine.
