How to Use the Lumo⁺ and MicroInfuser™ Together
Owner's guide · Lumo⁺ + MicroInfuser™
Two devices, one order, one calendar
The official EvenSkyn® guide to running the Lumo⁺ and the MicroInfuser™ together: the same-day order, the gel rule, the Lumo⁺ glide map, the two-week calendar, the one-way rule and its wait times, troubleshooting, care for both devices, and who should not use the pair.

01 · At a glance
The six numbers that run the pair
If you remember only this row, you will run the two devices the way both manuals intend.
- Lumo⁺ firstEvery time the two meet, the Lumo⁺ runs before the MicroInfuser™, never after it. Heat through unbroken skin, then the barrier is opened.
- 24 hThe manual's minimum after stamping before any RF, EMS or ultrasound session, on any setting.
- 48 hWhat we recommend before the Lumo⁺ returns. Three days if your skin runs sensitive or is deeper-toned.
- 14 daysBetween MicroInfuser™ sessions, in the evening. The calendar below is built on it.
- 2 to 3 a weekLumo⁺ sessions over 40; 1 to 2 a week under 40. Never two days running.
- 0 gelUnder the needles. The conduction gel is rinsed off between the two devices, every duo evening.
02 · The pair
Two devices, two jobs
The Lumo⁺ warms through an intact surface. The MicroInfuser™ opens the surface and delivers through it. Neither does the other's job, which is why the order between them matters.
Lumo⁺: warmth, current and light through unbroken skin
- Radiofrequency at 1 MHz. RF mode runs a 5 minute cycle: a short warm-up, then a steady hold the handset controls itself
- Massaging mode (EMS): microcurrent at 100 Hz for the muscles of the face and neck, a 5 minute cycle
- Red light at 623 nm and blue light at 465 nm, paired with the modes as the handset sets them
- Five modes, named as the display names them: RF, Cleansing, Nourishing, Massaging, Cool. Every mode except Cool carries radiofrequency
- What it never does: break the skin. Everything it delivers passes through an intact surface
MicroInfuser™: micro-channels and the serum, in one motion
- A sterile single-use head with 25 needles in a 5 x 5 grid, fixed and depth-limited at 0.5 mm. Pressing harder cannot drive it deeper
- One sealed 5 mL ampoule of Syntha-Pep™ per session, clicked onto the head so the serum never meets open air
- Seven zones, 23 sweeps, 50 percent overlap, about 5 to 10 minutes
- Once every two weeks, in the evening
- What it never does: heat the dermis. It carries no energy at all
The five Lumo⁺ modes, and which one a duo evening uses
Mode names as they appear on the handset display. Timers from the manual, page 14.
| Mode | Timer | What it is for | On a duo evening |
|---|---|---|---|
| RF | 5 min | Radiofrequency with red light. The warm-up that primes the skin before stamping | Yes, this one |
| Cleansing | 3 min | Ion cleansing: radiofrequency, iontophoresis and sonic vibration to lift out oils and build-up | No. Cleanse by hand; this mode belongs to Lumo⁺-only days |
| Nourishing | 2 min | Iontophoresis to push water-based products in, with radiofrequency, red light and sonic vibration | No. The ampoule does this job through the micro-channels |
| Massaging (EMS) | 5 min | Microcurrent at 100 Hz for the muscles, with radiofrequency, red and blue light and sonic vibration | No. It would double the radiofrequency time on a stamping night; run it on Lumo⁺-only days |
| Cool | 2 min | Semiconductor cooling with blue light. The only mode without radiofrequency | No. Nothing touches stamped skin that evening |
Which modes to run on a duo evening is EvenSkyn guidance, not a manual instruction; the manual lets you select one mode or several in any session (page 13). The pair is not RF microneedling and is not equivalent to a clinical procedure: neither device drives radiofrequency through a needle. Why that is so, what the pair will not do, and which device to buy first if you can only buy one, is set out in RF and micro-infusion at home. This page is only about running the two well.
03 · Before a duo evening
Two days of preparation, then a clean start
A duo evening is a MicroInfuser™ evening with a Lumo⁺ warm-up in front of it, so the MicroInfuser™ preparation rules govern it. None of this is difficult, and all of it shows in the result.
48 hours before
Skin prep
- Pause retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and physical exfoliants. The full stop-and-resume table is in section 09
- Drink more water; go easier on caffeine and alcohol
- Stay out of direct sun. No tanning beds
- Prioritise sleep; rested skin is more comfortable on the night
- Your last Lumo⁺ session sits at least 2 days before a duo evening (3 days under 40), because the duo evening is itself a Lumo⁺ session. The calendar keeps 4 clear days
- First time with the MicroInfuser™: patch test a small, less visible area 24 hours before your first full-face session, 48 hours with rosacea, controlled eczema or psoriasis, melasma, or a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
On the day
Set up clean
- Lumo⁺ charged (a full charge takes about 2 hours) and its electrode head wiped with a wet paper towel or cotton pad
- Laid out: the conduction gel, one sealed ampoule, one sterile head, a clean towel, surface disinfectant, and a rigid container for the used head
- Tie your hair back; wash your hands
- Double cleanse with a residue-free cleanser to remove every trace of makeup, sunscreen and oil, then pat dry with a clean towel
- Nothing oil-based on the skin: the Lumo⁺ manual wants the treatment area free of oils for the first four modes, and the MicroInfuser™ manual wants it residue-free
- Sanitise the surface you will work on and the outside of the ampoule. Do not touch the needle head
04 · The duo evening
Nine steps, about 15 to 20 minutes
Evening, in this order. The Lumo⁺ half is a normal RF session with the gel. The MicroInfuser™ half is the session you already know from the single-device guide. The join between them is the rinse, and it is the step people skip.

-
1
Double cleanse and pat dry
Remove every trace of makeup, sunscreen and oil with a residue-free cleanser, twice. Pat dry with a clean towel. Wash your hands.
Check: no facial oil, oil-based cream or leave-on treatment on the skin. The Lumo⁺ manual wants the treatment area free of oils for RF mode, and the MicroInfuser™ manual wants it residue-free.
-
2
Apply the conduction gel
A thin, even layer of the water-based conduction gel over the face and the sides of the neck. The Lumo⁺ is designed to work without a gel, but a conduction medium improves conduction and lets the head glide, and a thinner layer moderates the sensation if it feels strong.
Check: gel only. Any water-based product will conduct, but on a duo evening use the gel alone, because everything on the skin comes off again before you stamp.
-
3
Lumo⁺: RF mode, 5 minutes, the six lifts
Power on, select RF mode at your usual level (first-time users start at level 1), and keep the head in slow, constant motion: the six lifts on the glide map, upward and outward in small circles, never parked on one spot. Level 3 at most immediately around the eyes, and nothing on the eyelids, inside the eye socket or over the thyroid and Adam's apple. The mode times out at 5 minutes.
Check: usual level, not a step up. A stamping evening is not the night to test a higher intensity. That is our guidance; the manual sets the level bands by age, not by pairing.
-
4
Power off. The other four modes wait for a Lumo⁺-only day
Cleansing, Nourishing, Massaging and Cool stay off on a duo evening. Every one of them except Cool carries radiofrequency, and the manual keeps a session to 5 to 8 minutes. Nourishing exists to push water-based products in, which the ampoule does through the micro-channels. Cool is never used on stamped skin. Run them on Lumo⁺-only days.
Check: this is EvenSkyn guidance, not a manual instruction. The manual lets you select one mode or several in a session; on a duo evening we choose one.
-
5
Rinse the gel off, pat dry
Lukewarm water, until no gel is left anywhere the head touched, including the hairline and under the jaw. Pat dry with a clean towel. The MicroInfuser™ manual asks for clean, dry skin; slightly damp is fine in our experience, gel is not. The only thing that should travel through the micro-channels is the Syntha-Pep™ serum from the sealed ampoule.
Check: run a clean fingertip over the cheek. Any slip means gel is still there. Rinse again.
-
6
The MicroInfuser™ session, seven zones
Open the ampoule, click on a fresh sterile head, rest it upside down for one to two minutes, remove the needle cap, then stamp the seven zones in order with light taps, lifting fully between each and overlapping by half. The seven steps, the four clips and the face map with sweep counts are in how to use the MicroInfuser™.
Check: skin still pink and warm from the Lumo⁺ is expected and is not a reason to wait; the manual's ideal sequence is the energy device immediately before. Stinging as you stamp is not expected: it means residue. Stop and rinse again.
-
7
Pat the remaining serum in
With clean fingertips, pat whatever is left in the ampoule onto the face, the neck and the backs of the hands. Skin takes up product readily in the first hour.
-
8
Nothing else on the skin tonight, then bed
A hydrating sheet mask within the first hour, or a peptide or barrier cream if you use one. Otherwise nothing: no washing the face again, no makeup, no Cool mode, no gel, no other device. Sleep on a fresh pillowcase. The 72 hours of aftercare are the same as after any MicroInfuser™ session.
-
9
Wipe and charge the Lumo⁺; bin the head and ampoule together
Power the Lumo⁺ off and unplug it before cleaning. Wipe the electrode head and the magnetic ring with cotton or a soft, dry or lightly moist cloth, let it dry, then set it on its charging base. Replace the MicroInfuser™ protective cap and discard the used head as a sharp, sealed in a rigid, puncture-resistant container, with the empty ampoule. A fresh pair next time.
Time budget: about 15 to 20 minutes end to end. Two to three minutes of cleansing and gel, 5 minutes of RF, a minute to rinse and dry, 5 to 10 minutes of stamping and patting in. The MicroInfuser™ manual sets the energy device "immediately before your micro-infusion session, or anytime earlier in the same day", so a morning Lumo⁺ session and an evening stamping session are also within the manual; the gel rule holds either way.
The gel rule, in two panels
The conduction gel is water-based and can stay on after a Lumo⁺-only session. On a duo evening it comes off before the head touches the skin.
05 · Lumo⁺ glide map
Six lifts, upward and outward
The manual's six lifts, in order. Every one moves upward and outward, away from the centre of the face, in slow circles that never stop. A full pass of all six fits inside one 5 minute RF cycle.

- Never treat: eyes, eyelids, inside the eye socket; thyroid and Adam's apple
- Arrows: lift direction, slow circles along the line
- Level 3 at most: the skin immediately around the eyes
| Lift | From | To | Motion |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1Jaw to ears | The jawline, either side of the chin | Up towards the ears | Slow circles, lifting upward as you glide |
| 2Mouth corners to ears | Beside the corners of the mouth | Up and out to the ears | Slow circles, lifting upward |
| 3Philtrum to above the ears | The philtrum, between nose and lip | The point above the ears | Circles, lifting upward across the cheek |
| 4Nose wings to lower lids, then temples | The wings of the nose | Under the lower lids, then up to the temples | Circles; level 3 at most here, and never on the lid or inside the socket |
| 5Brows to hairline | The brows | Up to the hairline | Circles, lifting upward |
| 6Neck, both sides | The base of the neck, either side | Up towards the jaw | Slow lifts up the sides only; never over the Adam's apple or thyroid |
Never treat: the eyes, the upper or lower eyelids, or any skin inside the eye socket; the thyroid and Adam's apple. Keep the head moving: the manual wants slow but constant motion, and the RF mode is not held on one spot. Cool mode is the one exception to constant motion (5 to 10 seconds per spot), and it is not used on a duo evening.
Lifts 1 to 5 cover the face; lift 6 is the neck. On a duo evening you can stamp the face and leave the neck to the Lumo⁺ alone: the neck takes a lighter hand with the MicroInfuser™ and a three-week interval, which the single-device guide sets out.
And the MicroInfuser™ half
Once the gel is off, the MicroInfuser™ half of the evening is the seven-zone map: forehead 5 sweeps, each cheek 3, nose bridge and upper lip 2, each side of the lower face and jawline 3, chin 4, always with the 25-needle head overlapping the last stamp by half. The zone map with directions and the never-stamp areas is in the face map on the single-device guide.
06 · The calendar
The two-week cycle, day by day
One MicroInfuser™ session every 14 days, the Lumo⁺ on its own schedule around it, and a window after every duo evening that the Lumo⁺ never crosses. Day 1 is the duo evening.
- Day 1Duo evening
- Day 2Rest
- Day 3Gentle
- Day 4Gentle
- Day 5Lumo⁺
- Day 6Rest
- Day 7Rest
- Day 8Lumo⁺

- Day 15Duo evening
- Duo evening: Lumo⁺ RF mode, then the MicroInfuser™
- Rest: nothing on the skin but gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF
- Gentle skincare, actives returning on the wait-time schedule
- Lumo⁺ day: a normal session, any modes, gel can stay on
- The window after stamping: red to 24 h (manual minimum), amber to 48 h (our guidance)
| Day | Lumo⁺ | MicroInfuser™ | Skincare | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | RF mode, 5 minutes, usual level, with the gel | Full session, after the gel is rinsed off | Double cleanse before. A hydrating mask or peptide cream after, then nothing else | The duo evening. Lumo⁺ first, always. Take a photograph in fixed light before you start the first one |
| Day 2 | No | No | Gentle cleanse with lukewarm water, fragrance-free moisturiser, SPF 30 or higher. Mineral makeup only if you must | Inside the manual's 24 hour minimum. No RF, EMS, ultrasound, sauna, steam, hot yoga or hot showers |
| Days 3 to 4 | No | No | Gentle skincare. Actives return on the wait-time schedule: vitamin C, scrubs and benzoyl peroxide from 48 hours, retinoids and acids from 72 hours | Our 48 hour guidance ends on the evening of day 3; sensitive or deeper-toned skin waits to day 4. The Lumo⁺ stays off until day 5 either way |
| Day 5 | Yes. A normal session, any modes, gel can stay on | No | Usual routine | First Lumo⁺ session of the cycle, 4 days after the duo evening: clear of both age bands' minimum gap |
| Days 6 to 7 | No | No | Usual routine | Rest days for the Lumo⁺: at least 2 days between sessions, 3 under 40 |
| Day 8 | Yes | No | Usual routine | 3 days after day 5 |
| Days 9 to 10 | No | No | Usual routine | Rest days for the Lumo⁺ |
| Day 11 | Yes, over 40. Under 40, skip it | No | Usual routine | Over 40 runs 2 to 3 a week; under 40 runs 1 to 2, so the third session in this week comes out |
| Days 12 to 14 | No | No | Usual routine to day 12. From day 13, pause retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and exfoliants: 48 hours before the next duo evening | 4 clear days before the next duo evening, so the Lumo⁺ arrives rested on the night |
| Day 15 | RF mode, 5 minutes, with the gel | Full session, gel rinsed off first | As day 1 | Day 1 of the next cycle. Four cycles is one kit and about two months |
First cycle, new Lumo⁺ owner
Ramp in over the first two weeks
The Lumo⁺ manual's first two weeks are 5 to 8 minutes a week, at the lowest level. So in your first cycle the Lumo⁺ runs on Day 1 (the duo evening, RF mode, level 1) and Day 8 (a Lumo⁺-only session, 5 to 8 minutes) and nowhere else. Days 5 and 11 stay empty. From Day 15 the steady-state calendar above applies, and the level rises one step at a time as your skin tolerates it: to level 4 at most under 40, level 5 over 40.
The ten-day option
Only after 4 to 6 tolerated sessions
The MicroInfuser™ manual allows a 10 day interval once skin has tolerated four to six sessions with no irritation. On that cycle: duo evening Day 1, rest Day 2, gentle skincare Days 3 to 4, Lumo⁺ Day 5 and Day 8 (over 40) or Day 5 only (under 40), next duo evening Day 11. Every gap still clears the manual's minimum between Lumo⁺ sessions, and Day 8 to Day 11 is 3 days. Go back to two weeks at the first sign of prolonged redness, dryness or sensitivity.
Checks built into the calendar: every gap between two Lumo⁺ sessions is at least 2 days (3 under 40, per the manual's age bands), no 7 day window holds more sessions than your band allows, and the last Lumo⁺ session before a duo evening sits at least 2 days before it. The Lumo⁺ manual also prefers up to 7 to 10 days of healing after a session at a higher intensity; if you run high levels, drop Day 8 or Day 11 rather than the gap after stamping.
07 · The one-way rule
Energy before stamping, never after it
Energy before stamping primes the skin. Energy after stamping, on an open barrier, only adds redness and slows recovery. So the order runs one way, and after it there is a window that nothing thermal or electrical crosses.
Red and near-infrared LED masks may return from 24 hours. Everything with heat or current waits, and deeper-toned skin follows the 72 hour mark.
The manual
What the MicroInfuser™ manual sets
- Use RF, ultrasound or EMS before micro-infusion, ideally on the same day: immediately before, or anytime earlier the same day
- After micro-infusion, wait a minimum of 24 hours before resuming any RF, ultrasound or EMS session
- Never within 24 hours, even on a low setting
- The reason: the barrier is temporarily more reactive, and heat, vibration or electrical stimulation inside that window can amplify redness and prolong recovery
- Red and near-infrared LED masks may return from 24 hours
EvenSkyn guidance
What we recommend on top of it
- Leave 48 hours before the Lumo⁺ returns, and three days if your skin runs sensitive or is deeper-toned. Day 5 on the calendar clears both
- Cool mode is not an exception. It carries no radiofrequency, but nothing touches stamped skin on the evening itself, and by the next day it has nothing to do
- Heat of any kind sits inside the same window: sauna, steam room, hot tub, hot yoga, hot showers and sweaty training. The manual sets 24 hours for those; we would match the Lumo⁺ gap
- The reverse order is never rescued by a low level or a short cycle. If you have stamped, the Lumo⁺ waits
- One energy device per evening. If you own another RF, EMS or ultrasound device, it follows the same window as the Lumo⁺
08 · What to expect
What is normal, and when the look of your skin changes
Two devices, two kinds of sensation, one slow curve. Knowing both in advance makes for a calm first duo evening.
After a Lumo⁺ session
- Warmth while RF mode runs; a pulsing sensation in Massaging mode on Lumo⁺-only days, which less gel or a lower level moderates
- Pinkness that settles. No downtime; on a Lumo⁺-only evening you can carry on with your routine
- Skin still pink and warm when you pick up the MicroInfuser™ on a duo evening is expected, not a reason to wait
After a duo evening
- A pink or red flush for one to four hours after stamping, the same as after any MicroInfuser™ session
- Mild sensitivity, slight dryness or a faintly tacky finish as the humectants settle; it resolves overnight
- A hydrated, plumper look at 24 to 48 hours, which is the first thing most people notice
The progress timeline on the two-week cycle
- That eveningFlush, warmth, a tacky finish. Nothing else on the skin, then sleep.
- Day 1 to 2Skin looks hydrated and refreshed, with a more even-looking tone.
- Week 1 to 2Texture looks smoother. The Lumo⁺ is back on its schedule from day 5.
- Week 3 to 4Fine lines begin to look softer. Two duo evenings in.
- Week 6 to 8The look of firmness starts to show. This is the milestone most people are waiting for.
- Week 8 to 12Judge the pair here, in the same light, in a photograph against your day 1 picture. Not before.
Our own six-month internal study of the MicroInfuser™ with Syntha-Pep™ (108 adults aged 41 to 74, randomised against a water-only ampoule, company-sponsored and not peer-reviewed) reported mean changes from baseline of 18 percent in assessed laxity, 23 percent in texture and 19.5 percent in tone. It did not test the Lumo⁺ or the two devices together, and individual results vary. Both are cosmetic devices that support the look of firmer, smoother, more hydrated and even-toned skin; neither is a medical device, and neither treats any condition.
09 · Wait times
Wait times for the pair
Two tables. The first is the MicroInfuser™ manual's ingredient table, unchanged, because a duo evening is a stamping evening. The second is what the pair adds: devices, modes and heat.
Around a duo evening
| Ingredient | Stop before | Resume after | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retinoids (retinol, tretinoin, retinaldehyde) | 48 hours | 72 hours | Thin the outer layer and raise sensitivity |
| AHAs (glycolic, lactic, mandelic) | 48 hours | 72 hours | Chemical exfoliation overlaps with channel formation |
| BHAs (salicylic acid) | 48 hours | 72 hours | Same as AHAs |
| Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) | 24 hours | 48 hours | Low pH can sting freshly treated skin |
| Scrubs and physical exfoliants | 24 hours | 48 hours | Friction is too aggressive on healing skin |
| Benzoyl peroxide | 24 hours | 48 hours | Drying and potentially irritating |
| Added synthetic fragrance, high-strength essential oils | Same day | 48 hours | Common post-treatment irritants |
| Red and near-infrared LED | Not required | 24 hours | Non-thermal; the wait lets the initial phase settle |
Clinical procedures and salon treatments (Botox, fillers, peels, lasers, IPL, microdermabrasion) keep the waits in the single-device guide's full table. The conduction gel is water-based and comes off before stamping, so it never meets the window.
Devices and heat
| Item | Before a duo evening | After a duo evening |
|---|---|---|
| Lumo⁺ RF mode | Runs as the warm-up, immediately before or earlier the same day | 24 hours minimum (manual). 48 hours, our guidance; 3 days if sensitive or deeper-toned |
| Lumo⁺ Massaging (EMS), Cleansing, Nourishing | Not on the duo evening; on Lumo⁺-only days | Same window as RF mode. They all carry radiofrequency |
| Lumo⁺ Cool mode | Not on the duo evening | With your next Lumo⁺ session |
| Any other RF, EMS, microcurrent or ultrasound device | Same rule as the Lumo⁺; one energy device per evening | 24 hours minimum; 48 hours, our guidance |
| Red and near-infrared LED mask | No wait needed | 24 hours |
| Next Lumo⁺ session, after any Lumo⁺ session | At least 2 days between sessions, 3 under 40 | The same, and ideally up to 7 to 10 days after a session at a high intensity |
| Oil-based products on a Lumo⁺-only day | Not under the first four modes | After modes 1 to 4, before Cool |
| Sauna, steam room, pool, hot tub, sweaty training | No wait needed | 24 hours (manual); we would match the Lumo⁺ gap |
| Hot showers | No wait needed | Lukewarm only for 24 hours, face out of the stream |
Manual figures are the MicroInfuser™ manual's 24 hours and the Lumo⁺ manual's gaps between its own sessions. Everything marked as our guidance is stricter than the manuals, never looser.
10 · Troubleshooting
If something is not going to plan
Pair-specific problems only. Anything about the MicroInfuser™ on its own (serum not flowing, no click, dragging) is in the single-device guide.
| What you notice | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Stinging as you stamp | Gel or product residue on the skin. The needles are carrying it into the channels | Stop. Rinse again with lukewarm water until a clean fingertip does not slip, pat dry, and continue. Next time, rinse the hairline and under the jaw too. |
| Redness lasting past the next morning after a duo evening | Lumo⁺ level too high before stamping, RF too soon after the last session, or sensitive skin | Hydrate, SPF, no actives, and watch it settle. Next duo evening, drop the Lumo⁺ a level and use lighter stamping pressure. If it repeats, extend the gap after stamping to three days. |
| I did the MicroInfuser™ first by mistake | Order reversed | No Lumo⁺ tonight and none for 24 hours at minimum, 48 hours recommended. Treat that evening as Day 1 and restart the calendar from it. The session itself is not wasted. |
| I used the Lumo⁺ the morning after stamping | The one-way rule crossed inside the 24 hour window | Stop, cool water, a fragrance-free barrier cream, SPF, and watch the skin for 48 hours. Expect more redness than usual. Extend the gap after stamping next cycle, and contact a healthcare provider if swelling increases, redness lasts more than 48 hours or you see signs of infection. |
| Missed Lumo⁺ days | Life | Do not double up or run two days in a row. Resume the cadence on the next scheduled day. The weekly minute cap in the manual is the limit, not a target. |
| Skin runs sensitive every cycle | The combined routine is a little much for your skin at this level and spacing | Stretch the gap after stamping to three days, lower the Lumo⁺ level, and hold the MicroInfuser™ at two weeks or longer. Introduce changes one at a time so you can see what helped. |
| The Lumo⁺ will not power on or does not feel warm | Flat battery, dirty electrodes, or too little gel for good contact | Charge for about 2 hours, clean the electrode head with a wet paper towel or cotton pad, and use a thin but complete layer of gel. If it still will not run, contact support@evenskyn.com. |
| The gel feels like it stings under the Lumo⁺ | A conductive medium raises the sensation of the current; too much gel or too high a level | Use less gel and a lower level. The manual notes that a smaller amount of a water-based product moderates the sensation. |
11 · Care
Looking after both devices
One is a rechargeable handset you keep for years. The other is an applicator whose working parts you replace every session. They are looked after differently.
Lumo⁺
- Power off and unplug before cleaning. Never clean it while it is charging
- Before use, wipe the electrode head with a wet paper towel or cotton pad
- After every use, wipe the electrode head and the magnetic ring with cotton or a soft, dry or lightly moist cloth. Do not leave it submerged
- Let it dry before it goes back on the charging base. A full charge takes about 2 hours; use the adapter from the box
- Avoid severe impact and extreme heat; the head is medical-grade 316 stainless steel with titanium electrodes
- Store it dry on its base, out of children's reach
MicroInfuser™
- The needle head and the ampoule are single-use, discarded together. Never sterilise and reuse a head: home sterilisation cannot match gamma sterilisation, and the tips are damaged after one session
- Used heads are sharps: seal them in a rigid, puncture-resistant container before disposal, and follow local sharps rules
- Wipe serum residue off the connector with mild soap and water and let it air dry fully
- Store the applicator, heads and ampoules in the original box at 5 to 30 °C (41 to 86 °F), away from sunlight and heat, and never in the bathroom
- The applicator carries a 12-month limited warranty on manufacturing defects, as the kit page states
The conduction gel
- Water-based, so it rinses off with water alone and will not leave a film that the needles could carry in
- Cap it after use and keep it cool and out of sunlight
- One thin layer per Lumo⁺ session. More gel raises the sensation of the current
- Any water-based, oil-free product conducts; oil-based products do not belong under the first four modes
- Replacement: the EvenSkyn conduction gel
Warranty terms for the Lumo⁺ are stated on its product page and in its manual; this guide does not restate them.
12 · Suitability
Who should not use the pair
Two devices, two contraindication lists, and the pair is off the table if either applies to you. The manuals' wording comes first; where we go further than a manual, it says so.
MicroInfuser™: do not use
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless cleared by your physician
- Oral isotretinoin now or within the past six months
- A personal or family history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- An active bacterial, viral or fungal infection in the area, including cold sores
- Open wounds, abrasions or unhealed cuts where you would stamp
- Active cystic or inflammatory acne in the area
- An active eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis flare
- A chemical peel, laser treatment or significant sunburn within the past seven days
- A known allergy to gold, stainless steel or any ingredient in the serum, and a known fish or shellfish allergy
Ask your doctor first (manual, pages 14 to 15): blood thinners or anticoagulants; oral or topical antibiotics, immunosuppressants, systemic steroids; uncontrolled diabetes, an active autoimmune flare or an unhealed facial procedure; rosacea, melasma or a history of cold sores or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Lumo⁺: do not use
- Children. The handset is for adults only, over the age of majority where you live
- Pregnancy
- Skin conditions or diseases that make radiofrequency or light therapy unsuitable for you
- Metal implants in the body
- Reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, unless supervised or instructed by someone responsible for your safety
EvenSkyn guidance
- A pacemaker or any implanted electronic device: do not use RF or EMS. The manual bars metal implants; we extend that to every implanted electronic device
- Any cardiac condition: speak with your physician before using RF, EMS or microcurrent
Both, with a modified routine
- Deeper skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV to VI): both devices are usable. For the MicroInfuser™, a 48-hour patch test, lighter pressure, longer gaps and SPF 50 every morning; for the pair, three days rather than two before the Lumo⁺ returns. Not sure of your type? Take the Fitzpatrick skin type test
- Botox or neurotoxin: two weeks before a MicroInfuser™ session and two weeks minimum after. Dermal fillers: two weeks before, one to two weeks after. Those waits govern the duo evening; for the Lumo⁺ on its own, follow your practitioner's advice
- Sensitive skin: patch test, the lowest Lumo⁺ level, one MicroInfuser™ session every three to four weeks at first, then two weeks if skin tolerates it
- Neck and chest: the Lumo⁺ treats the sides of the neck on every session; the MicroInfuser™ takes lighter pressure, one or two fewer sweeps and a three-week interval there
- Rosacea, controlled eczema or psoriasis, melasma, or a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: extend the MicroInfuser™ patch test to 48 hours and stop at any unusual reaction
Adults only, 18 and over. Both are cosmetic devices, not medical ones, and nothing on this page is medical advice. If anything above applies to you, or you are unsure, speak with a qualified healthcare provider before your first session. The reasoning behind each tier for the MicroInfuser™ is set out in full in who should not use an at-home micro-infusion device.

Frequently asked questions
I did the MicroInfuser™ first by mistake. What now?
Put the Lumo⁺ down. Once you have stamped, the MicroInfuser™ manual's 24 hour minimum applies to any RF, EMS or ultrasound session, on any setting, and we would leave 48 hours. Treat that evening as Day 1 of the calendar and carry on from there; the stamping session itself counts. The Lumo⁺ comes back on Day 5.
Can I run the Cool mode after stamping to calm the skin?
No. Cool mode is the only Lumo⁺ mode without radiofrequency, but the rule on a duo evening is that nothing touches stamped skin: no gel, no handset, no cloth beyond a clean fingertip patting serum in. Use a clean cold compress if the skin feels warm, and let it settle overnight. Cool mode returns with your next Lumo⁺ session.
Do I need to cleanse again between the two devices?
Rinse, not cleanse. The double cleanse before the Lumo⁺ has already removed makeup, sunscreen and oil. Between the devices, rinse the gel off completely with lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean towel. A second round of cleanser is not needed unless you touched the skin with something other than the gel. Slightly damp skin is fine; any trace of gel is not.
Which Lumo⁺ modes do I run before stamping?
RF mode only, for its 5 minute cycle, at your usual level. That is our guidance for a duo evening, not a manual rule: every mode except Cool carries radiofrequency and a session is 5 to 8 minutes, so adding Massaging (EMS) doubles the radiofrequency time on the night you also open the barrier. Nourishing mode exists to push water-based products in, and the ampoule already does that through the micro-channels. Cleansing, Nourishing, Massaging and Cool all belong to Lumo⁺-only days.
Does the Lumo⁺ have to be immediately before the MicroInfuser™, or can it be earlier in the day?
Either. The MicroInfuser™ manual's ideal sequence is the energy device "immediately before your micro-infusion session, or anytime earlier in the same day". A morning Lumo⁺ session and an evening stamping session are within the manual. What does not change is the gel rule: whenever you stamp, the skin has been rinsed clean and patted dry first, and no gel or oil has gone on since.
Should I turn the Lumo⁺ down on a duo evening?
Run your usual level, and never a step up. A stamping evening is not the night to test a higher intensity, because you cannot tell afterwards which device caused any extra redness. Around the eyes the manual caps the level at 3 regardless. First-time Lumo⁺ owners start at level 1.
My skin is still pink and warm from the Lumo⁺ when I go to stamp. Do I wait?
No. Warmth and a light flush after RF mode are expected, and the manual's ideal is the energy device immediately before micro-infusion. Rinse the gel off, pat dry and continue. What you should not feel is stinging as you stamp; that means residue, so stop and rinse again.
Can I use the Lumo⁺ on my neck the day after stamping my face?
Wait. The manual's 24 hour minimum is written for the session, not for a patch of skin, and the neck lifts run up to the jaw, where the lower-face zones were stamped. Give the whole face and neck the same window: 24 hours at minimum, 48 hours in our guidance, then the Lumo⁺ returns everywhere at once on Day 5.
I have never used either device. How do I ramp in?
Patch test the MicroInfuser™ 24 hours before your first full-face session. On the first duo evening, run the Lumo⁺ at level 1 for its 5 minute RF cycle, then the full MicroInfuser™ session. For the first two weeks the Lumo⁺ manual allows 5 to 8 minutes a week, so your only other Lumo⁺ session in the first cycle is Day 8. From Day 15, follow the steady-state calendar and raise the level one step at a time as your skin tolerates it, to level 4 at most under 40 and level 5 over 40.
What if I miss a duo evening? Do I restart the calendar?
Yes, from the evening you actually stamp. The calendar counts from stamping, not from the date you planned. Keep the Lumo⁺ on its own cadence in the meantime, and make sure your last Lumo⁺ session is at least 2 days before the rescheduled duo evening (3 days under 40). Do not shorten the next MicroInfuser™ interval to catch up.
Can I use a serum or another gel under the Lumo⁺ instead of the conduction gel?
On a Lumo⁺-only day, yes: the manual says any water-based, oil-free product will conduct, and it recommends water-based serums or gels before Nourishing mode. On a duo evening we would use the conduction gel alone, because whatever is on the skin comes off again before you stamp, and a plain water-based gel rinses cleanest. Oil-based products never go under the first four modes.
How long does a duo evening take?
About 15 to 20 minutes: two to three minutes of cleansing and gel, 5 minutes of RF, a minute to rinse and pat dry, and 5 to 10 minutes for the MicroInfuser™ session and patting the rest of the serum in. Add the one to two minutes the assembled applicator rests upside down, which you can use to rinse.
