The Best Anti-Aging Treatments That Actually Work: Part 2

By Shannon Campbell.

If you read our previous article on anti-aging treatments, you’ll know that there is a swathe of fantastic and varied products and procedures that can be used to help curb the worst effects of aging on the skin.

But we didn’t cover everything in that article - there’s a lot more to the world of anti-aging, and we want to make sure that you have as many options in mind as possible. So we’re going to dive into the second part of this small series, on the best anti-aging treatments that can truly work for you.

Chemical Peel

During this treatment, a chemical solution that “blisters” skin is applied to your face. Over the course of a session, the top layer of your skin will begin to peel off and is removed by a practitioner. The new layer of skin beneath it will be smoother, and will “regrow” with fewer wrinkles and fine lines than you previously had.

Certain people are advised against using this skin-resurfacing treatment, however, including pregnant women, people who take certain medications, and people who are prone to chronic acne and outbreaks. Make sure you undergo a proper consultation with a reliable practitioner before undergoing a chemical peel.

Fat Injections

Fat injections are pretty much exactly what they sound like. Also known as fat transfers or grafting, fat is removed from one area of your body and reinjected in another area to reshape the area. When added to the face, these injections can make the skin smoother and tighter, filling in wrinkles and fine lines.

These injections are somewhat more invasive than some of the others on this list, so keep that in mind when you’re considering which treatments to choose. Your ability to undergo this treatment can also depend on your health and the medications you may be taking.

Radiofrequency Therapy

If you’re looking for a painless and completely non-invasive treatment for anti-aging, Radiofrequency (RF) therapy is the option for you. By using radio waves, this treatment can heat the deeper layers of your skin and subcutaneous tissue, which stimulates the collagen in those areas.

In turn, the affected begins to remodel itself, and skin begins to look tighter, smoother, and best of all, younger! It may take several sessions before results can be seen as the collagen remodeling process does take time. If you’d like to try RF therapy yourself, consider the  EvenSkyn® Lumo, one of the best anti-aging handsets on the market.

PRP

If you’ve heard of the ‘Vampire Facial’ that was all the rage amongst celebrities and influencers a few years ago, then you've heard of PRP, or platelet-rich plasma. PRP treatment involves taking platelets from your own blood and having them concentrated into a small sample of plasma. This is reinjected back into the desired area, where it is absorbed by the skin.

Slowly the PRP will trigger the healing process, rejuvenating your skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Dermatologists attest that PRP will make your skin look younger after just three sessions, and the results can last as long as 18 months.

Laser Resurfacing

Like other anti-aging treatments we’ve mentioned, laser resurfacing uses laser technology to slowly and safely remove layers of the skin by heating and destroying some areas. This reveals the tighter, younger-looking layer beneath, and encourages the growth of healthy new skin cells. It is a particularly effective treatment for wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.

Though we have covered what we consider to be the best anti-aging treatments on the market, both part 1 and 2 of this list is not exhaustive. But wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and whatever other issues that concern you - they don’t have to run your life. But we believe that if you explore the treatments we’ve mentioned, you’ll see incredible results.
